When will we be able to travel again? Here’s what we know
Travel Company TUI has revealed details of its plans to re-start summer holidays with a limited programme when the Government travel advice changes. In phase one of the planned restart, from July, up to 8, holidaymakers could travel on up to 44 flights per week to Ibiza, Palma, Corfu, Crete, Kos, Rhodes, Lanzarote and Tenerife.
TUI plans to add more flights and destinations by the end of July to offer a total of 19 destinations from five UK airports, subject to Government advice. Key measures include mandatory face masks on board, extra cleaning and disinfecting of aircraft, state-of-the art hospital standard air filtering systems to keep fresh air flowing through the cabin every few minutes.
There will be hand sanitising stations set up throughout hotels, social distancing markers on the floor,restaurants may have fewer tables and will stay open for longer.

Holidays abroad could be possible from July, according to travel industry bosses. Quash Quarantine, a group of more than companies, says it has received private assurances from senior government sources that travel corridors will be in place from 29 June. The group, which has been campaigning to overturn the day quarantine rule that came into force in the UK on 8 June, is pressing for the assurance to be made public.
It is also calling for an amendment to the Foreign Office advice against all but essential travel. The industry needs urgent visibility on a timetable for travel to begin again. Abta has not specified a date for the introduction of travel corridors, but pointed to other European countries including Spain, Greece and Portugal opening their borders to some countries from 1 July.

If you do go abroad on holiday, you will need to prepare well. Only go to countries with a yellow travel advisory. Travelling to these countries is responsible, but you must still be extra vigilant. Travel advice can change quickly, including while you’re away. As of 15 June, travel advisories for several European countries will be changed from orange to yellow. That means that the risk to health in these countries is comparable to that in the Netherlands and that these countries are happy to receive Dutch tourists.
